i read this with my egg combo breakfast and slightly cooled down chai while the fan is actually throwing COOL air for the first time in months—and this just captures that small in-between feeling so much. thank you for writing about it 💛

Do you know why I like your writings so much? Because they hit home. They feel like a wind of nostalgia. They feel like they're telling me "you're not alone". They're a familiar existence from a world I know nothing much about. They just feel warm to read. It's the fact that they can make me walk the memory lane with little to no efforts. It's the "I know this feeling" while reading your writings. I love them. And I always will.

ayee, i used to be a coffee addict but now i like chai more mainly because everyone in the house drinks it together and i cherish that feeling :D

Ofcourse! You are often obliged to follow the same pattern as majority of your family follows. Although I feel like chai and coffee has there own seasons and there own charm. Both unique.

I'm totalllly going to attempt writing something from your prompt! ALSO Mahin, oh my gosh, your writing is everything! You capture the heart of autumn in a way that’s so relatable and true—it’s like you took all the everyday moments we don’t see on Pinterest and made them shine. Absolutely love this!

this piece literally summed up the feelings i've been having lately. every time i search on pinterest seeing all the white girls celebrating fall it feels like there isn't space for me. autumn looks differently to everyone.

also i've been looking for books to read this fall and i'm sick of all these western classics being recommended (no hate). if you need a recommendation, i've been meaning to read Frankenstein in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadawi it's a retelling of Mary Shelley's book.

I am from Bangladesh and the way I relate to this entire piece is eerily accurate. Autumn is waiting for winter to arrive so that you can hide under the kambal and your mom turns on the fan to get you out of bed, it's telling yourself the end is near, next year is gonna be better in sha Allah and its fighting with your mom over which lehenga to wear or maybe a saree for the next umpteenth wedding of a relative who says and I quote 'saw you when you were a kid' ifykwim. Autumn is waiting for Eid because you'll get salami and most importantly because this year has been overwhelming, eid will bring new beginnings and its closer from January than from October. I hope you're doing well, thank you for writing this

Beautiful writing Mahin I LOVED THIS. I wrote something similar about autumn in my "autumn is here but the leaves aren't yellow" post but you've done it SO MUCH BETTER THAN ME. I think it's because I feel more for that Pakistani atmosphere but have lived in Riyadh for so long, so my post was more Riyadh vibes than Lahore. This though, this was it. I cannot tell you how real and great this. Loved it sm ♡
